CSG Adds Zoning and Land Use Attorney Jennifer Porter; Enhances Real Estate Development Practice
Chiesa Shahinian & Giantomasi PC (“CSG”) today announced that Jennifer Porter has joined the firm as a member in its Real Estate, Development and Land Use Group. She will be based in the firm’s West Orange, New Jersey office.
Porter brings to CSG more than 15 years of experience representing real estate developers and owners on development, zoning, land use, planning and permitting issues. Her zoning and land use practice extends uniquely to four states – New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Connecticut. She has brought this experience to bear on the multi-state expansion of a national financial services firm resulting in the development of more than 85 new banking sites across the tristate area.
Porter said, “CSG has earned a reputation as having one of the preeminent real estate practices in the New York-New Jersey corridor and beyond. I look forward to joining their distinguished roster of attorneys and collaborating with my new colleagues to expand our capabilities and best serve our clients throughout the region.”
“We welcome Jennifer as a key addition to our experienced bench of talented real estate, development and land use attorneys. She brings the unique ability of practicing land use law on a multijurisdictional basis – an extremely rare quality,” commented Fredric P. Lavinthal, Co-Chair of CSG’s Real Estate, Development and Land Use Group. “We look forward to working with Jennifer on a number of interesting projects – including the redevelopment of the City of Asbury Park’s Waterfront Redevelopment Area, which has drawn national attention and acclaim.”
“This strategic addition of Jennifer and her dynamic real estate development practice will serve as a springboard for our clients seeking growth opportunities throughout the Mid-Atlantic region,” added CSG Managing Member Daniel A. Schwartz. “Jennifer will add tremendous value to our clients, and we are delighted to have her join us.”
A graduate of Pace University and Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Porter is licensed to practice in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. She is an active member of the New York State Bar Association’s Municipal and Real Property Law Sections; the New Jersey Bar Association’s Land Use Law Section; the Connecticut Bar Association’s Planning and Zoning Section; and the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section.
Prior to joining CSG, Porter served as a Director with a leading Newark-based, regional law firm.
