Donna Erem is a seasoned land use attorney. She represents clients before municipal, county and state agencies regarding all aspects of land use development and redevelopment, including related environmental and regulatory matters. Her practice includes obtaining approvals for corporate centers, warehouse parks, lifestyle centers, health care facilities and a variety of major commercial, residential and mixed-use projects.
Donna walks every project site with each client’s project engineer in order to fully understand and appreciate its intricacies and issues. She familiarizes herself with the surrounding area of the site in order to understand any resulting impacts, positive or negative, of the proposed project. This process helps Donna develop a comprehensive presentation for the zoning or land use board. Her relationships with the appropriate municipal contacts and boards result in trust and respect for her practice and her clients.
Donna currently serves as a member of the Downtown Advisory Redevelopment Committee in her hometown. In addition, her past experience as a zoning board member and vice chairman allows her to understand what a board requires in order to grant favorable decisions for her clients. Always well prepared and well versed in the law, she approaches each project with a determination to create a solid record of the case and to win approvals expeditiously.
Prior to joining the firm, Donna served as in-house counsel to Hartz Mountain Industries, Inc., where she had responsibility for land use applications as well as land use litigation matters. She also prosecuted the entire real estate tax appeal portfolio for Hartz, which included 35 million square feet of commercial, retail and industrial properties.
